Give Back to Humanity Inc (“GBTH,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located at 20 Towne Drive, Suite 163, Bluffton, SC 29910. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect the personal information of volunteers, students, and their parents or guardians who register for our mission trips, including information collected through text messaging (SMS).

Information We Collect

When you register for a mission trip through our online forms, we may collect your name, mobile phone number, email address, date of birth, mailing address, emergency contact information, and, where required, documents such as a passport photo, notarized parental consent, a divorce decree, or a death certificate.

How We Use Your Information

We use this information to process your mission trip registration, confirm your volunteer file is complete, send you reminders about required documents, and share updates about your trip. If you provide your mobile phone number and opt in, we may send you SMS text messages about these topics.

Text Messaging Privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Opting Out

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. You may reply HELP for assistance.

SMS Program Details

Our SMS program is the Give Back to Humanity Mission Trip Registration Updates program. You opt in to this program by submitting the Welcome and Apply form, the Volunteer File form, or another GBTH registration form that includes a phone number field and a separate, optional SMS consent checkbox. Message frequency varies depending on where you are in the registration and trip process, and typically includes confirmations, document reminders, and trip updates.

Cookies and Tracking

Our website may use cookies and similar tracking technologies, such as analytics tools, to understand how visitors use the site and to improve it over time. These tools do not collect your SMS opt-in information, and cookie or tracking data is never used to send you text messages. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, including limiting who on our team can view volunteer records and storing documents in access controlled systems. No method of storing or transmitting data is completely secure, but we work to protect your information at every step.
